Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves review

Posted : 1 year, 5 months ago on 4 May 2007 07:15 (A review of Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves)

It's odd that every time I watch this movie, I find it less dramatic, and more comedic. Loved this movie when I was younger, despite the witch creeping me out, but the years have been kind to this movie. I still love all the action, sword play and romance... but I find myself enjoy the little humourous bits more and more. I've always been particularly fond of the scene with telescope, or floundering in the water with John Little.

The Man in the Moon review

Very sweet movie. I was expecting it to be much cheesier, but it was just a sweet coming of age story about first love and sisters.

National Lampoon's Pucked [2006] (REGION 1) (NTSC) review

Posted : 1 year, 5 months ago on 30 April 2007 08:29 (A review of National Lampoon's Pucked [2006] (REGION 1) (NTSC))

I love Jon Bon Jovi and Cary Elwes... and normally National Lampoon provides entertaining and comedic viewing... But everyone who was in this movie and everyone who worked on it should be utterly embarrassed and strike it from their resumes.

Legends of the Fall (Special Edition) review

Posted : 1 year, 5 months ago on 29 April 2007 09:22 (A review of Legends of the Fall (Special Edition))

I remember seeing this for the first time as a kid and wondering why the hell people would make movies that are so ridiculously sad. As an adult, I still wonder! This is just one of those incredibly gut-wrenching movies that still manages to become one of my favorites. This kind of movie is still where I consider Brad Pitt to be at his best.

Persuasion review

It's undeniable that Jane Austen is the master (mistress?) of romantic fairytales. This one is a classic tale of unrequited love with a happy ending. Movies like these have become those sort of "comfort" movies when feeling a little low.

Freedom Writers (Widescreen Edition) review

Posted : 1 year, 5 months ago on 27 April 2007 04:59 (A review of Freedom Writers (Widescreen Edition))

A very beautiful movie, a great "underdogs" kind of story. I'm only disappointed in the fact that movies have had stories like this forever and have been done over umpteen times. It sort of makes you fee las if "Well, if there are people making changes out there like this all the time, why do we still need them?"... It's a vicious cycle and no matter how many times it's pointed out in the media, this problem still exists.

Taxi 2 [2001] review

Posted : 1 year, 5 months ago on 22 April 2007 05:10 (A review of Taxi 2 [2001])

Definitely one of my favorite movies. This is the one that got me into the Taxi series and Luc Besson. Quite funny and off-beat.

Les Chevaliers du Ciel review

I'm not a huge French film buff, but I enjoyed the movie. The story itself didn't really interest me, but I loved the plane chases, tricks, and astounding scenery.

The Fountain (Widescreen Edition) review

I'm at a complete loss. On the one hand, I loved the imagery, use of colours and just the way the whole movie flowed. Simultaneously I can't get myself out of that mindset of "Oh, how artsy fartsy"... Was it pretentious, or was this really that good?

Camp Nowhere review

Posted : 1 year, 5 months ago on 21 April 2007 02:13 (A review of Camp Nowhere)

This movie brings back so many memories; saw this in grade school and my friends and I were obsessed with it. The kind of stuff any kid would give their eye tooth for! :D
