Taxi [1999] review

Posted : 1 year, 5 months ago on 21 April 2007 07:13 (A review of Taxi [1999])

Love this movie every time I watch it (and I've seen it plenty of times!). The American version doesn't even begin to compare to this one and is probably more of an insult.

The Bourne Supremacy (Widescreen Edition) review

Posted : 1 year, 5 months ago on 21 April 2007 07:07 (A review of The Bourne Supremacy (Widescreen Edition))

Finally got around to watching this after loving the first movie. It certainly follows the same pattern as the first movie in terms of action and interesting fighting (though some of it does seem to go on a little bit too long). I'm just disappointed they deviated so much from Robert Ludlum's stories right from the first movie, that this second movie shouldn't even have been attributed to the series.

This was like two hours of spoiled little rich kids playing gangster.

Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow (Widescreen Special Collector's Edition) review

Posted : 1 year, 6 months ago on 15 April 2007 06:42 (A review of Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow (Widescreen Special Collector's Edition))

Gwyneth Paltrow plays the most annoying role ever. She's like that girl in the horror movies that never stops screaming, the one you hope will get horribly slaughtered before the end of the movie. I've always hated women who make a nuisance of themselves, though. Jolie, on the other hand, plays exactly the kind of woman I like. Other than that, I love the graphic enhancements and cinematography of this movie and just the overall feel of the "era" in this film. It's an interesting world that was rather fun to explore.

Rock Star review

This movie always struck me as straddling the line between comedy and drama. In some places it seems to take itself too seriously, and in others, you can't tell if they're being tongue-in-cheek. Though I must say the music in this movie is great!

Vampire Hunter D - Bloodlust review

Posted : 1 year, 6 months ago on 25 March 2007 05:20 (A review of Vampire Hunter D - Bloodlust)

In my personal opinion, this movie only contributes to the reasons I dislike anime. It's just really not something I can get into them and always find them rather slow. There were just so many shots of a still face; great budget savers, I imagine. They only served to increase my impatience which lead to me not particularly enjoying the story.

Snakes on a Plane (Widescreen New Line Platinum Series) review

Posted : 1 year, 6 months ago on 21 March 2007 09:35 (A review of Snakes on a Plane (Widescreen New Line Platinum Series))

This was so stupid, disgusting, and hysterical. It's one of those you have to watch just to say you've seen it.

Children of Men review

Posted : 1 year, 6 months ago on 21 March 2007 09:33 (A review of Children of Men)

The movie was odd, but it made me want to read the book. There's too much that I think was removed for the sake of filming; i felt as if there were distinct holes in the character development and feel.

There was more heart in this than in "We Are Marshall".

Mindhunters review

Posted : 1 year, 6 months ago on 21 March 2007 09:32 (A review of Mindhunters)

Eh... It was pretty good until the last few scenes, where it just sort of lost it all. Could have been much better considering the actors who were in it.
