Porky's review

Posted : 6 months, 4 weeks ago on 17 March 2008 08:27 (A review of Porky's)

The original teen sex romp... which really doesn't age well! It was incredibly corny and almost cringe-worthy. It's one of those movies where you can't help but watch and wonder if teenagers really are that pathetic!

The Family Stone review

This turned out to be much better than I thought it would. There were some plot points that I found rather obvious and cliché, but overall it was surprisingly touching.

Serendipity review

Very sweet romantic comedy. I loved watching the two actors pass each other by on so many occasions. Knowing they would just have to get together eventually doesn't make it any less fun to watch them go through it all. I also found Jeremy Piven to have a really great role in this movie; he has some great lines.

Hitman review

Posted : 7 months, 2 weeks ago on 29 February 2008 08:11 (A review of Hitman)

I've never played the video game so it's impossible for me to judge whether or not it's remained true to the original story line.

I can say that I actually really enjoyed the movie. There's lots of action and a ridiculous amount of blood splatter! Sure, some parts are a little odd (is he a eunuch or something?!) and the plot line is rather confusing. But overall, I'd say it's a rather interesting way to spend a couple of hours.

The Net review

Posted : 7 months, 2 weeks ago on 29 February 2008 02:32 (A review of The Net)

Sure, when this first came out, this was probably one of those movies that had paranoid groups going "OMGz, Sandra Bulllock is right!! They will catch me through the internet and their advanced modem technology." Now, despite ID fraud, the movie just sort of makes you laugh.

Happy Feet review

Posted : 7 months, 2 weeks ago on 29 February 2008 02:29 (A review of Happy Feet)

The idea of penguins being "sexy" is just about the creepiest thing I've ever seen. I cannot understand the fascination that people have with animals doing human things. The movie was also far too slow (and long!) to capture a child's interest.

AVP: Aliens vs. Predator - Requiem review

Posted : 7 months, 2 weeks ago on 27 February 2008 12:33 (A review of AVP: Aliens vs. Predator - Requiem)

Not a bad movie if all you're looking for are some great death scenes, gore and plenty of fake blood. Other than that, the acting was hideous and I found myself almsot wishing the aliens would actually succeeed in taking over the world! :P

Class review

Posted : 7 months, 3 weeks ago on 21 February 2008 07:25 (A review of Class)

I love the 80s teen movies, but this sort of falls short of the high bar John Hughes set in that era. The movie sometimes feels as awkward as the teens portrayed in the movie and the ending is jsut sort of blunt... as if no one thought of where to go from there to give it some proper closure. What I did like was the sort of turned tables, of the older woman becoming the obsessed one, rather than the teen.

Teen Wolf review

Posted : 7 months, 3 weeks ago on 18 February 2008 07:49 (A review of Teen Wolf)

What a silly movie! I love that everyone just totally accepted the fact that he was a werewolf because he could then play a mean game of basketball! Cute, and very transparent with the message that we should all be happy with who we are.

St. Elmo's Fire review

Posted : 7 months, 3 weeks ago on 18 February 2008 07:24 (A review of St. Elmo's Fire)

Was this the movie that launched a thousand careers?! Really a classic 80's movie and what you get to learn by watching this is that every generation has had their angsty teen movies. You can almost see the creator of Dawson's Creek watching this movie and taking notes, rattling on about what a gold mine this was!
