 One of the better Stephen King adaptations and it's really quite interesting. Unfortunately, it gets rather hokey with the special effects at the end... and it's far too Americanized for my tastes. There isn't a single mention of the rest of the world and how they are faring and it would seem to me that a big fight between good and evil would have to take place all over the world, not just on US soil.

also, its way too religious for my liking. 'God' vs 'Satan' rather than a more generic Good vs Evil.

Yeah... that's sort of an issue for me, too which is why the ending seemed so ridiculous from my point of view.
